Ellie's Trip to the Dentist

Ellie went to the dentist yesterday 4/17 to have some little cavities filled. She refused to get out of bed that morning until I threatened I would take her to the dentist in her jammies, with her unbrushed teeth and stinky breath. She finally got up 10 min. before we needed to leave. Jessica and I watched the assistant put the "happy gas" and ear phones for a movie on Ellie. ( Jessica goes next month to have some work done and was nervous about the mask with the gas.) We then went to the waiting room so Jessica didn't see more things to scare her. When Ellie was done she walked out with big puffy lips and cheeks. She looked so cute. We stopped by Grandma Carol's office since we were close by. I then bought her a milkshake for lunch since her mouth was numb. We also got her an Arby's sandwich which was a good back up since she couldn't drink her shake. She tried 2 or 3 times to drink her shake and would get frustrated everytime because her lips were too numb and she couldn't get her lips to seal around the straw enough to suck. I got a kick out of that. I helped in her class that day and the teacher asked my why Ellie wasn't focusing on her work she was just spacing off. I told the teacher I think the "happy gas" still hadn't completely left her system. Ellie was so glad when her mouth "woke up" and she could be normal again.

Ellie's Tooth

Ellie has had a loose tooth for the last 3 or 4 months. It finally became wiggly enough to pull but she fought it. The picture with Jeff and the pliers is just posed. Her bottom right tooth finally came out on Sunday, April 6th. Jeff took some dental floss and wraped around the tooth. He said with hardly any effort the tooth just popped out into his hand. The new tooth is already through and on its way up to fill the gap. I have tried to get Ellie to let me take a picture but she refuses. The tooth fairy even remembered to come that very night and bring a dollar.

Kid's Birthdays

Birthday Bash

We again survived our triple birthday bash on April 3rd. I helped in Ellie's class that day then left early to bring birthday treats to the boys class and bring the dog for Mason's show and tell. After school we quickly turned on the radio. One of the radio stations announces kids names on the day of their birthday. The DJ laughed and made some comments about having three birthdays on the same day, he announced; Johann, Mason and Jessica Frederick. Jonah asked, who is Johann? I said, that's you buddy. We called him Johann for the rest of the day. After school we headed up to the zoo for a couple of hours. Jeff came home early from work so he came with us. We then went to the pre-chosen restaurant of IHOP for birthday dinners. The kids all ordered breakfast and Jess and Jonah ordered Horton Hears a Who Pancakes. Lots of sugar. We went home after dinner and the kids opened presents. Jonah and Mason received Heelys, journals, clothes and a new video game. Jessica got an MP3 player, dress up clothes, Disney paper dolls and some clothes. She later bought a new bike with the birthday $$ she got from relatives. On Sunday April 6th we had Jeff's family over for dinner and birthday cakes. All three cakes turned out fun and cute.
