Ellie went to the dentist yesterday 4/17 to have some little cavities filled. She refused to get out of bed that morning until I threatened I would take her to the dentist in her jammies, with her unbrushed teeth and stinky breath. She finally got up 10 min. before we needed to leave. Jessica and I watched the assistant put the "happy gas" and ear phones for a movie on Ellie. ( Jessica goes next month to have some work done and was nervous about the mask with the gas.) We then went to the waiting room so Jessica didn't see more things to scare her. When Ellie was done she walked out with big puffy lips and cheeks. She looked so cute. We stopped by Grandma Carol's office since we were close by. I then bought her a milkshake for lunch since her mouth was numb. We also got her an Arby's sandwich which was a good back up since she couldn't drink her shake. She tried 2 or 3 times to drink her shake and would get frustrated everytime because her lips were too numb and she couldn't get her lips to seal around the straw enough to suck. I got a kick out of that. I helped in her class that day and the teacher asked my why Ellie wasn't focusing on her work she was just spacing off. I told the teacher I think the "happy gas" still hadn't completely left her system. Ellie was so glad when her mouth "woke up" and she could be normal again.
