Relaxing in St. George

As noted in previous posts the Steph and the kids went to St. George from Sun. 6/29/08- 7/3/08. We just went to relax and let Steph recover a little longer. The kids swam in Grandpa and Grandma's club house pool every day. The first two days they swam in the evening until the sun went down and the bats came out. The boys love when they are in the pool and the bats fly down and skim the pool water. On Mon 6/29 we went to Pine Valley for a picnic and to escape the heat. We left St. George at 108 degrees and in Pine Valley it was about 88 degrees, still warm, just more comfortable. We built a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. The kids played in the stream near by and we just enjoyed a low key afternoon. I took my stitches out that night since I will miss my apt. on the first. It's feels like progress just to take out the sutures.
On Tues. 7/1 I went to Cedar City with my brother Brad. We went to girls camp for mother's night. I don't think Brad wanted to be the only single dad there with the other mom's so he invited me along. We had a wonderful dutch oven dinner and I enjoyed time away from the kids as they stayed back with my parents for the evening.
We had a fun girls night out on Wed. 7/2. I went to Tuacahn with my mom and my two girls to see the "Sound of Music". It was a wonderful performance, the girls and I loved it. I had never been to Tuachan before. Jonah and Mason had a boys night out with Grandpa Hays. The went to see Nims Island and then out for root beer floats after. We all got to bed late then woke up the next day ready to head for home. Mom and Steph went to breakfast at Aunt Marianne's to see Aunt Alleen. We came home loaded the car and headed home to SLC, it was a loooong car ride but my dad and I survived. It was good to be home and we were all excited to see Jeff and prepare for the 4th of July.
